Member Spotlight: Audio Tec Designs

Owned and operated by David Holiday, an experienced technology professional with degrees in engineering, robotics, telecommunications, computer architecture and networking, Audio Tec Designs has been a leader in the field of home automation and home theater systems for over two decades. Their experience level is one of the highest in the state of Florida, with very few companies doing this type of work as long as David Holiday and Audio Tec Designs. David started out offering advanced home entertainment and home automation services before many of the cutting-edge products now available on the market came into existence, devising his own methods of performing the tasks that are now handled by the touch of a button on advanced controls (some of which he helped to create).

Since 1989, Audio Tec Designs has been serving the home entertainment, home security and home automation needs of South Florida residents. Located in Boca Raton, the company specializes in offering products and services in Palm Beach County, although they’ve often been asked to perform work in other locations around the world by local satisfied clients, designing and installing some of the finest home theaters, whole-house audio systems and home automation systems.

In 1991, Audio Tec Designs gained national recognition for automating the home of an individual with disabilities in Potomac, MD. Information about the methods and designs used in this project was shared in national magazines and textbooks and the company was asked to consult with the ADA (American Disabilities Act) about ways to make it easier for people with disabilities to live with automation.

Over the years, David’s team has grown to include three experienced installation teams, two programmer/engineers, project managers and an administrative staff – although David still maintains a very hands-on role in the business. Outside of their own walls, Audio Tec Designs works closely with builders, architects, contractors and designers to provide clients with the systems of their dreams.

One such dream that was recently fulfilled can be seen in the photos that follow. Audio Tec Designs completed a project in an expansive 25,000-square-foot estate that included a whole host of technology. Among the spec’d product, the company installed: several 75”, 85” and 100” televisions,  two Audio Control high end surround sound systems,  two 4K direct view LED video walls (the Clubroom video wall is a 16-foot-by-9-foot display with a custom built 19-foot-long James loudspeaker sound bar with 28 speakers, the bowling alley and game room/club bar outdoor video wall on the covered terrace is a 4K 130” display), 18 Origin Acoustics Bollard speakers in planters around the pool area, and 16 Sonance  Extreme Flush mount speakers in the covered patios.

The home is fully automated with Control4 panelized lighting, Rukus network system, motorized shades, 24-zone multi-room Audio and Video distribution, three Ultimate Kaleidescape movie servers with every 4K movie, biometric entry and digital Watchdog 4K surveillance with facial recognition, and more.
